Cathy Gurley

Cathy Gurley has served as CEO of You Have the Power (YHTP), a nonprofit that empowers victims of crime, since 2012. Additionally, Cathy was a founding board member of the Nashville T.J. Martell Foundation. She has worked with Friends of Warner Park, McNeilly Center for Children, and StandUp2Cancer in addition to serving as a mentor at Tennessee Achieves and an adjunct professor at Middle Tennessee State University and Belmont University. Her writing brought her several national accolades including the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award.
Cathy is currently a member of the Nashville Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Sexual Offender Treatment Board, Domestic Death Review Team, ACES of Nashville, and the Domestic Violence Death Review Board.
Cathy’s communication skills have expanded YHTP’s community impact with programming and collaboration. As CEO, Cathy supervised the production of the documentary, “No Girl’s Dream”, used in our presentations on sex trafficking. Cathy also supervised the creation of the agency’s Youth Impact Curriculum, a cognitive-based workshop series designed to prevent further delinquency in at-risk youth, and, the newest YHTP curriculum, Succeeding Through Support: Responding to Domestic Violence in the Workplace.
Additionally, over the last 25 years Cathy has served on several committees to raise funds and awareness for local DV shelters.

Darlene Williams

Darlene is responsible for the day-to-day operations as well as working with the CEO in developing and expanding the impact of the agency in Tennessee through programming. She started with YHTP in July of 2017.
A former entertainment industry executive, Darlene’s previous employers include: What A Trip! Entertainment, CBS Cable/The Nashville Network, Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc., The Brokaw Company, The Moon Mullins Company, and AristoMedia.
Meaghan Bodrie
Director of Education

Meaghan Bodrie joined YHTP as the Domestic Violence Education Coordinator in October 2019. This is a new position for YHTP, made possible through a VOCA grant from the Department of Justice.
Meaghan will be developing a curriculum for providing policies and recommendations to employers to ensure the safety of their employees and worksites. The program will be underscored through statewide public messaging on the issue of domestic violence.
Prior to joining YHTP, Meaghan worked with A New Leaf in Mesa, Arizona as a Case Manager and eventual Supervisor for two of their domestic violence programs, helping build community connections throughout Arizona’s Maricopa County.
